The L 605 S LED sensor outdoor light is equipped with a 180° infrared sensor with a range of 10 m and 4 intelligent sensor programs. As soon as the sensor light detects movement at dusk, it automatically lights up brightly and reliably with warm white 3000 K and 729 lm – and switches off again automatically after a while. At only 11.3 W, it is extremely efficient. Continuous light and night light functions are also included, as is an elegant soft light start. This electronic module reacts when the infrared heat radiation within its detection range changes, i.e. when a person enters the detection range. The resulting voltage surge is converted by the system into an electronic pulse that switches the light. Humans emit infrared radiation due to their body heat. This radiation is used by infrared sensor technology to detect movement and respond accordingly. The range of infrared sensors depends on the direction of movement. With the L 605 S, the range is max. 10 m for tangential movement (parallel to the sensor), which is reduced for radial movement (towards the sensor). In addition, the detection range can be restricted using the supplied cover plates. STEINEL multi-lenses are visually reminiscent of a fly's compound eye and enable seamless monitoring with their hemispherical detection range. STEINEL multi-lens technology is the ideal lens system for motion detectors with double or triple sensors with detection angles from 180° to 360°. The sensor light turns on for no apparent reason. What could be the cause? Wind gusts can cause short-term temperature fluctuations, which can lead to false alarms. Other triggers can include exhaust vents in the wall of the house or animals in the detection area. Why does my sensor light switch on during the day? The sensor's twilight value may be set to daylight mode (approx. 2000 lux). Why does the sensor light not reach the specified maximum range? For technical reasons, PIR sensors respond best to tangential movement (parallel to the sensor). The detection range is reduced in the case of radial movement (towards the sensor).
